The Orbost Exhibition Centre is the home of the National Wood Design Collection. The collection is comprised of items acquired by the centre through Orbost’s Wood Design Competition.
The Centre was opened on 18 December 2004 after years of community fundraising ($150,000) and with assistance from grants made by the Myer Fund ($50,000), Victorian State Government Community Support Fund ($500,000), Federal Government Regional Solutions Program ($500,000) and the Foundation for Regional and Rural Renewal ($50,000).
It is a spacious gallery on two levels and performance space on the upper floor. The design features the timbers used and the performance space is acoustically excellent.
We aim to be a regional arts centre: providing a venue for performing arts, a gallery for visual arts, a gallery for high quality wood-work and a retail outlet for local artists and wood-workers.
The venue is also available for hire by contacting us on 0449734587.
